It was revealed to our journalists by Daramola, Ajayi’s mother, that the one-year-old child was playing outside their compound when the mother went inside to collect something for her.
According to the authorities, she was taken aback upon her return to find her infant had vanished from the location where she had left him before entering the house to retrieve the child’s clothing.
PUNK Metro discovered that the grieving mother reportedly sounded the alarm to alert the neighbors to the situation, prompting onlookers and other locals to participate in the hysterical hunt for the baby.
Tragically, the girl’s lifeless body was discovered floating atop a well at a nearby compound. It was reported that this discovery sparked unrest and attacks against several members of the community.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the event to our correspondents on Wednesday and stated that the injured citizens had been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
“The mother reported it when the baby went missing,” she claimed. She was then discovered dead within the adjacent compound’s well, which was regrettable. Those hurt in the ensuing violence have been transported to the hospital to receive treatment.
Despite the police’s recommendation for an autopsy, the parents have removed the body to be buried. Nobody has been taken into custody in relation to the event.
