Pep Guardiola of Manchester City has cautioned his team that it will be challenging to catch Arsenal if the gap between the two teams widens.
On Boxing Day, the Gunners increased their lead over City to eight points with a 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Emirates.
On Wednesday, when they visit Leeds United, Guardiola’s team will try to seal the deal.
The champions will be hoping to get back on track with a victory at Elland Road after losing to Brentford 2-1 at home prior to the World Cup.
“We must be vigilant and cautious given our loss to Brentford, the might of Arsenal, and the opponents that come from behind.
Before the game, Guardiola observed, “If the distance is wider, it will be so difficult to catch them.”
Recall that the Chelsea football team displayed great play on Tuesday night, defeating Bournemouth 2-0 in their 15th League match of the year to climb to the eighth position in the League standings.
