Since leaving the North London club, Wenger has not yet returned to management; he is currently serving as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
The Frenchman served as a prominent representative of the world football organization during the recent Qatar 2022 World Cup, providing speeches about results from the event.
Though it was obvious that the job to succeed him would be challenging, discussion about Wenger and his time at Arsenal has been brought up since his departure. The first person given a chance to revive the club’s fortunes was Unai Emery, but the Spaniard was fired before the start of his second campaign.
Mikel Arteta, a former midfielder, was subsequently given the chance, despite serious concerns about his capacity to lead the team back to the top.
His strategy took some time to come together, but this season the Gunners have looked like title contenders for the first time since the Wenger days.
Since then, there have been more discussions about Wenger at the club. Wenger had previously predicted that the team would compete for the title. The Frenchman previously stated to beIN Sports that “[Arsenal are] the second-best team to have a decent opportunity to win the Premier League since Man City at some point will focus highly on the Champions League.”
Wenger also stated that teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea would not be participating, and because of his allegiance to Arsenal, he made no predictions about Tottenham.
