A woman claiming to be the girlfriend of the accused killer of Joy Onoh Ogochuckwu, a dead Benue online merchant, has told the victim’s family that the late Joy’s ghost is torturing her.

After requesting the late seller to bring some garments, the lady known only as Martha claimed that her boyfriend, Matthew, murdered him in her chamber.

According to Martha, who was not present when her boyfriend committed the crime, according to a recorded phone conversation revealed by a family member of the late Joy.

 

She pretended to be in the market, but when she returned home, her boyfriend had already murdered Joy and given her Joy’s phone and her bag, which included some cash as well as the garments she had come to sell, and instructed her to flee to the village.

 

“My lover strangled her after inviting her to come sell clothes in Federal Housing 1st Gate (North Bank Makurdi).” And she handed me her purse and phone, as well as her money, which I should take with me on my trip. She stated that she is now in her community in Benue State’s Gboko Local Government Area.

 

She also stated that she attempted to phone Matthew but was unable to do so, and that she later learned that he had been arrested.

 

Joy Onoh Ogochukwu, a 24-year-old graduate of Benue State University’s Department of Mass Communication in Makurdi, was allegedly seduced and raped to death on Tuesday night by a putative client who asked her to deliver some garments.

 

Before her untimely death, she was awaiting a call from the National Youth Service Corps.

 

DSP Catherine Anene, a State Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed her murder, stated a case of a missing person had been reported to the Police and a search had been performed.

 

Joy’s body was discovered in a shrub at Federal Low Cost at 7 a.m. on October 20, 2021, according to Anene.

 

Two people have been arrested in connection with Joy Onoh Ogochukwu’s death.

 

The accused will be charged in court today, Monday, October 25th, 2021, according to a police source.
