He now shares the record for most victories as a manager in the Champions League with the late Sir Alex Ferguson, who led United to two Champions League titles.

Ancelotti now has 102 victories under his management belt after the victory over Celtic, tying Ferguson despite managing five fewer games.

Ferguson’s most recent Champions League victory came on November 7, 2012, when he defeated Braga 3-1 away from home.

The former Everton manager declared: “Let’s go for the 200. Happy to accomplish it here in Madrid!

“I’ve sat out of a number of games. I believe I did quite well.

It remains to be seen whether Ancelotti maintains the record for a protracted period of time.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, needs five victories to tie Ancelotti and Ferguson.

The Spanish manager has 97 victories in just 154 games and has twice won the competition.

Arsene Wenger, a retired legend and former manager of Arsenal, will be fourth for the time being.

Two-time Jose Mourinho is only five wins behind his former opponent, who has 81 victories, in 33 less games.

However, the Special One is currently in charge of Roma in the Europa League.

However, following his dominance in the Europa Conference League the previous season, he is the FIRST and ONLY manager to have won every Uefa club competition.

The remaining eight managers are Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, Luis van Gaal, Rafael Benitez, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Diego Simeone, and Massimiliano Allegri.

But Mourinho and company are still 23 victories or more behind the five managers.
