Rodri, a fellow countryman, feels that Pep Guardiola is best suited to stay in Manchester even if he has spent more time there than any other club he has led.

The Spanish international defensive midfielder spoke highly of Guardiola in an interview with The Times when asked about his wish for his manager to agree to a new deal.

We all adore him, and he has performed admirably lately, according to Rodri.

We will all be really thrilled if he decides to stay because he is our manager.

I’ve been working with Pep (Guardiola) for three years, and I hope we can work together for many more.

It’s true that coaches become tired, he continued. It makes sense once I met Diego Simeone, a coach who has been with the same team for 11 or 12 years.

But I believe Pep can envision this club’s future with the team we have for the foreseeable future. He must be present. We can achieve more success with his help because he is the ideal coach for us.

After joining Manchester City in 2019, Rodri saw virtually instant success and twice won the Premier League while living in the North-West of England.

He has developed into one of the best holding midfielders in the world because to his football skills, and he is a regular member of the Manchester City team.

This was demonstrated the previous campaign, when the 26-year-old Spanish midfielder led the Premier League in passes, touches, and recoveries while also winning his second English top-flight championship gold.

With three games in three separate leaguesโ€”the Champions League, Premier League, and EFL Cupโ€”the forthcoming football season will be demanding for Rodri and Guardiola.

On Wednesday night, Manchester City will play Sevilla in the sixth encounter of the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola will be seeking to rest and rotate his squad before the focus shifts to Fulham in the Premier League on November 5th, as the team has already advanced to the knockout stages of the league.
