Paul Pogba, a midfielder for France and Juventus, is in a battle against time to be ready for the World Cup after suffering a new injury.

WHAT IS GOING ON? GOAL is aware that Pogba’s recuperation from knee surgery has seen a setback. The midfielder will be out for at least 15 days due to a muscle injury to his right thigh. Due to his injury, Pogba won’t be able to play for Juventus again in 2022 and will likely struggle to recover in time to be included in France’s World Cup roster.

The midfielder had surgery in September to treat a knee injury he received in preseason; as a result, he has not participated in any competitive games this year.

Additionally, Pogba’s injury is a setback for Deschamps heading into the competition. N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder out for four months following surgery for a torn hamstring, is already unavailable to the France manager.

What will POGBA do next? The midfielder now has to demonstrate his fitness in a time crunch. The France World Cup roster is expected to be unveiled by Deschamps on November 9. Australia will be the opposition in Les Bleus’ inaugural match on November 22.
