Lewandowski said that the game against Argentina would be a big test because La Albiceleste were one of the tournament favorites in his preview of the campaign and the difficulties that his Poland team would face.
“When it comes to Argentina, there isn’t much to say. They are a sizable team and, in my opinion, one of the favorites to win the competition. There’s no doubt that’ll be our toughest game with an amazing legend like Leo Messi as their leader,” he remarked.
“Taking on such a quality squad with such skilled players will be fantastic.”
Lewandowski continued, describing his football career from playing for Polish clubs to representing absolute titans like Bayern Munich and Barcelona:
“Of course, I’ll always be proud of where I come from, but I also realize that in order to get to where I am now, I had to overcome many obstacles and break through many barriers, and that occasionally I had to take action on my own to accomplish goals that I had previously been unable to accomplish.
“I believe that my development was facilitated by my training and education. Additionally, there were areas I had neglected but recognized I wanted to get better at over time.
On the way to Qatar, the 34-year-old scored nine goals in nine games, securing Poland’s spot in the World Cup’s group stages. When discussing his stellar track record of scoring goals, he said:
“I’m absolutely happy that I scored so many goals throughout qualifying, but I’m most happy that it helped us qualify for the World Cup. I’m incredibly delighted and proud to have accomplished such great stats since I know that each and every one of my goals can assist my team win.
Regarding the expectations he bears and must manage, Lewandowski continued, “I’m aware that they increase every time I achieve and every time I score a goal. Everyone expects me to score, but that’s not always possible no matter who we’re playing or the difficulties we confront on the field.
“I realize I should pursue my ambitions with a constant hunger. I’m well aware that this isn’t always the case, but many people who look at my numbers assume that if I scored, I played well, and if I didn’t, I played poorly. I don’t worry about it.
