The Ballon d’Or award ceremony was held in Paris on Monday, October 17, 2022, and Karim Benzema has been chosen as the winner.
The Real Madrid attacker received the honor as a result of his outstanding play for Real Madrid during the recently finished 2021–2022 football season. The Frenchman was a key player for the Galaticos when they defeated Liverpool to win the La Liga and UEFA Champions League at the Stade de France. He also helped France win the UEFA Nations League.
Benzema was the clear favorite for the prize because of his success scoring goals while playing for Real Madrid. In 45 appearances with Madrid, he scored 48 goals and added 12 assists.
