At Wertheim & Co., where he served as an analyst, he continued his professional career.

Prior to founding Soros Fund Management in 1970 and taking on the role of CEO, he had founded yet another company the year before, making it increasingly challenging for him to oversee both at one point. His businesses kept expanding and earning him a lot after renaming one of his funds “Quantum Fund,” increasing his net worth.
Being a businessman and investor, he also got involved in other ventures, including the pound short in 1992, which involved fumigating pounds for several months, and the insider trade in Société Générale in 1988, in which the owner approached him to purchase shares. He launched the “stop operation Soros” campaign in Macedonia earlier this year in an effort to get feedback on his global performance.
