William Gallas, a former Chelsea player, claimed that Graham Potter, the team’s new manager, had already caused a “issue” with Raheem Sterling.

By starting Sterling out of position, the English coach, in Gallas’ opinion, has committed a mistake.

Potter has only been in charge for one game since being named the new Blues manager a few weeks ago after Thomas Tuchel was fired.

The former Brighton manager chose to play Sterling on the left flank during the 1-1 Champions League match with Red Bull Salzburg.

Gallas also claims that he can not get the manager’s reasoning for where to place Sterling on the field.

“That is a difficulty. I didn’t understand why Sterling was playing as a left wing-back, Gallas said to Genting Casino.

I find it difficult to see why he would want to try something like this, especially during a Champions League match.

When playing at home, why do you start Cucurella as the center back, leave Chalobah and Fofana on the bench, and start Sterling as the left wing back? I don’t comprehend.

“In the end, they drew 1-1, which wasn’t a good outcome. People will always evaluate the outcome, so why did he place those two players in those locations is the question.
