“I’m going to tell you about my skincare routine.

I have to wash my face gently because I have individual eyelashes.

While I was growing up in Nigeria, I used balancing toner, black soap on my face, and cocoa butter all over my body. During lockdown, my real passion in skincare started. I started exploring into techniques to lessen my pigmentation and conducting research.

“I use eye cream after that. This is something I must purchase and use both day and night. I spend more time on skincare than I do on cosmetics. I haven’t actually used foundation in like a couple of years.”

“Not even when I’m performing on stage, not even for photo or video shoots. Moreover, Naomi Campbell told me about it. If ever, she hardly ever uses foundation. I stopped taking medication because I believed that since Naomi is so attractive, if it worked for her, it would certainly work for me as well. It takes some getting used to, but that’s when your inner confidence shows.

An Obagi serum is my next step. This serum is excellent. To be honest, there weren’t many women with my complexion represented in the beauty industry when I was younger and moved from Nigeria to the UK.

“In actuality, I tried bleaching my skin. I remember my mother entering the room one day and finding these weight-loss products I was using. She was stunned and sought to praise the attractiveness of my skin instead.

She was having a very difficult time because she thought she needed to teach me to love my skin. However, it is much easier and better now that people with darker skin tones are included.

Face cream I have a very, very special place in my heart for this face cream. Dr. Barbara really pulls my blood and utilises the pl@sma from it to make this face cream.

And since women with skin like mine have another misconception that they don’t need to protect their skin from the sun, even though it is essential to do so, I often pair it with sun drops as well. And whether I’m at home or on the go, I use it every day. In order to complete the look, I add a Tata Harper Spring Mist.
