A Nigerian student became pregnant while the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike was still going on. The young woman blamed the pregnancy on the protracted strike in a video posted on TikTok by her account @omotayomide2.

Before the strike began, she posted a video of herself in which she still had a flat stomach and showed no symptoms of pregnancy. The makeover, however, revealed that she had put on weight in addition to her expanding baby belly.
Sharing the video via TikTok, she said:
“Before ASUU strike and after ASUU strike. ASUU you no try o.”
