However, Southampton scored a stunning goal from Romeo Lavia in the 28th minute to draw even.

The hosts were able to earn all three points thanks to a deflected shot by Adam Armstrong at the end of the first half.

The performances of many Chelsea players have drawn criticism; however, Cole was particularly displeased with Jorginho.

Cole noted on BT Sport that Armstrong’s goal was outstanding and that Southampton was pushing a lot of bodies forward.

“Jorginho is defeated way too easily for me,” said Armstrong. “Armstrong goes to make a run in behind, knowing the center backs must cross, and it is a great finish with his left foot.”
