Iwobi was also ruled out of Nigeria’s double-header qualifier against the Central African Republic for the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

Manager Rafa Benitez told the club’s website that Iwobi, Lucas Digne, and Seamus Coleman are all back to full health, but that it is too early to make a decision on their availability against David Moyes’ team.

Benitez told the Everton website that the international break offers an opportunity to bring back players.

Alex Iwobi was training, as were Digne and Coleman – which is great news for us – as they have joined the team in training.

Others are improving, and we’ll see how they are next week.

“Lucas had an issue and was treated for two or three days, but he has since resumed training.”
