On his way to Ibadan, Oyo state, for a film shoot, the Cameroonian-born filmmaker perished in an automobile accident.
Leroy was engaged in an auto accident on Saturday, June 11, 2022 near the Shagamu end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, according to his lover and friend David Akande.

On May 14, 2022, the budding filmmaker took home the award for Best Indigenous Film (Yoruba) for his first feature film, Alaise, at the seventh AMVCAs.
The Cameroonian filmmaker Edgard Le Roy Nouke Ngedemon was born on July 13, 1995, and died just weeks before his 27th birthday.
He’s the first Cameroonian and filmmaker to win the AMVCAs and for his first feature film in a totally foreign language.
