On Saturday night, May 14, the eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards took place, with Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro emerging as Best Actress in a Drama and Best Dressed.

Following her victory at the Africa Movie Viewers’ Choice Awards on Saturday night, May 14, Osas Ighodaro returned home a happy winner. MultiChoice’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) honours outstanding achievement in television and movies on a yearly basis.

Osas Ighodaro is an actress, producer, host, and humanitarian from Nigeria. In 2010, she was crowned Miss Black USA. She also co-hosted the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2014. She received Best TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards for her portrayal as Adanna (Danni) on the soap opera Tinsel. Osas was named the highest-earning Nollywood actress in 2018.

Osas Ighodaro was born in the Bronx, New York, to Nigerian parents from the state of Edo. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and minors in entrepreneurship and theatre. She also earned a master’s degree in fine arts from Pace University’s Actors Studio Drama School. She moved to Nigeria in 2012 with the idea of returning to the United States after six months, but she landed many acting parts in the nation, notably Adanna in Tinsel, and has been there ever since. She was the host of Maltina Dance All Reality. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and the creator of the Joyful Joy Foundation.

In October of this year, she joined MTV Shuga for the fourth season. She was named a top female celebrity for the year 2020.

In June 2015, she married Gbenro Ajibade. In 2016, they welcomed their first child. They split up soon after.
