King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Marshall, the Mayegun of Yorubaland, has lost his adopted father, Otunba Samson Aremu Rufai, the Mefu of Igan. Otunba S.A Rufai (JP), a notable community leader in Ago-Iwoye, passed away at the age of 84.

After a brief illness, Otunba Rufai died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 26th, 2022.

He reigned for 43 years as the Mefu of Igan Quarter, one of Ago-eight Iwoye’s Quarters.

It should be mentioned that Otunba Samson Rufai was appointed Mefu of Igan Quarter in 1979 and oversaw many massive developments throughout his tenure.

He was survived by many children, including Otunba Sesan Rufai, the Chief Executive Officer of Goldmyne TV and Limelite Hotels.
