Afeez grew up in the Idiroko area of Ogun State before moving to Oyo State to complete his secondary education. In the 1980s, he relocated to Lagos in pursuit of greener pastures.

Afeez’s enthusiasm for performing began when he was in elementary school. When he arrived to high school, he had an idea for a theater script called “Kokoro Aiye,” which was well received by his classmates and professors.
His professional experience began when he relocated to Lagos in the mid-1980s, where he met fellow Yoruba actor, Rasaq Olayiwola (Ojopagogo).
He rose to prominence in the Yoruba film business thanks to Ojopagogo. In the year 2000, he began producing films with the film ‘Maje Sinwon Waye.’
