In an extravagant Nikkai ceremony attended by some of her movie industry pals, Nollywood actress Elizabeth Aishat Anjorin wedded her long-time friend Lateef Lawal. However, problems concerning her husband’s prior life arose a few months after they had settled down to married life. Fola Tinubu, one of Lateef’s ex-wives, accused him of abandonment. She also alleged that the actress kidnapped and turned her spouse against her. As a result, she became in debt and was unable to provide for her three children.

Lateef cut off all contact with him, according to Fola, and refused to transfer money to her for the upkeep of their children. She appealed to Nigerians to assist her in keeping her head above water and providing proper care for the children her husband abandoned.

Lizzy Anjorin defended her husband after Fola’s public outburst. Fola and Lateef Lawal, she claimed, were never married. Liz described the latter as a respectable man who would not shirk his responsibilities, adding that he had given Fola over N1 million in less than five months.

The individual at the center of the dispute created his own can of worms just as people thought the situation had been handled and the opposing parties had been appeased. In an almost one-hour video, the billionaire acquitted himself of all the charges levied against him. He also sentenced to death all those who slandered his name. His first wife, he claims, was Ramota, also known as Iya Ayomide. Before they went their separate ways, they had two children together. He maintains that he has been acting as a father to the two children.

In 2006, he met Monsurat, his second wife, and the two married in a Nikkai ceremony. He caught her cheating on him not long after they welcomed their child. He described how he discovered her in inappropriate situations with their co-tenant, her spiritual advisor, and another individual whose name he didn’t give. He claimed he ended the relationship, but while he was locked out of his residence, the woman took all of his things.

Following his departure from Monsurat, he met Fola, a woman with two children from a previous marriage. Fola, on the other hand, never revealed to him that she had previously been married. She pleaded for forgiveness when he found out and confronted her, and they both moved on. Fola became pregnant shortly after, and he assumed care for the child, despite his doubts about paternity. He claimed he had sought a DNA test several times, but Fola constantly stirred up difficulty whenever the topic was brought up.

Finally, he challenged his ex-wife to present the three children she claimed he fathered for a DNA test. He stated that if the test came out positive, he would continue to care for the children. Fola, like Monsurat, his second wife, he claimed, was an adulteress. She would leave the house and not return until the next day, he claimed, leaving the children alone in the house. By that time, he had permanently left the house and rented a new flat in Ikorodu, where he began all over again while still acting as their father.

Fola was a gold digger, according to Lawal, who saw him as her automated teller machine. He also accused her of being a slacker and a chronic liar who did not want him to succeed. He pleaded with skeptics to come to his former home in Fagba, Lagos State, where he lived with her, to verify his claims. He also produced voice recordings from his landlord and neighbors, which backed up everything he alleged.

Lawal made certain that he was not implicated in the story of selling Fola’s land as she claimed. Fola, he claims, had no property when they met, and he did not try to extort anything from her. He went on to say that he is in danger and that Fola must be held accountable if anything bad happens to him or his family.
