In the interview, Labake Dejo recounted how her mother was deeply upset upon seeing her acting debut, going as far as accusing her of immoral behavior. โWhen my mom watched my first movie, she started crying and said I have become a prostitute,โ the actress revealed.
Despite her motherโs disapproval, Labake Dejo was determined to pursue her passion for acting. She described how she joined a movie production group to continue her filmmaking career, even earning a modest โฆ1,500 for her role in a series.
โBecause of my passion and insistence that I was going to continue filmmaking, I joined a group where they featured me in a series movie, and I was paid one thousand five hundred naira,โ she said.
