West Ham United have confirmed that Michail Antonio underwent surgery for a fractured limb after being involved in a car crash on Saturday afternoon.
The club had initially stated that Antonio was involved in a “road traffic accident,” with images circulating on social media showing the significant damage to his Ferrari GTC4Lusso, as reported by The Times.
An hour after the news broke, West Ham reassured fans that Antonio was “conscious and communicating” while recovering in the hospital.

On Sunday afternoon, the club provided an update on the Jamaica internationalโs condition, confirming that he had undergone surgery for a lower limb fracture. A club statement read:
“Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days. Everyone at the club wishes Michail a speedy recovery and expresses sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by the football community since yesterdayโs news. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the emergency services, first responders, and medical team who have supported Michail throughout his recovery.”
The club will offer further updates when necessary.
Antonio will not feature in West Ham’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at the London Stadium.
