Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has confidently predicted that Chelsea will finish above reigning Premier League champions Manchester City this season.
The Blues continued their strong start to the campaign with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Southampton on Wednesday night. Enzo Maresca’s side now sit second in the league table after 14 matches.
Chelsea have lost only twice in the league this season and have netted 31 goals—more than any other team in the division.

Speaking during The Overlap watchalong, Carragher said:
“I’m telling you, Chelsea is going to finish above Man City. They’re winning games with ease. The way they played against Arsenal, the way they played against Liverpool—it’s impressive.”
While Carragher acknowledged Arsenal as a greater concern for his beloved Liverpool, he praised Chelsea’s performances:
“As a Liverpool fan, I’m more worried about Arsenal than Chelsea. Arsenal are a bit more machine-like, but Chelsea is playing so well.”
With their current form, Chelsea could pose a significant challenge to Manchester City in the title race.
