Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his team lacks pace in the middle of the park following their 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday. He also pointed out that Liverpool were “stronger in the duels.”

Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah in each half secured all three points for the hosts, leaving City with little offensive threat. As a result, they are now 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.

After the match, Guardiola reflected on the defeat, saying: “We didn’t think we could lose one game, two games. Losing six or seven is a lot, but it is what it is, we have to accept it.

“But we lack pace in the middle right now, and they [Liverpool] are stronger in the duels. You have to survive with the ball. We are not as good in transitions over 30-40 meters compared to them. We had to adapt, and we did. I cannot forget the players I have.”
