The Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter was abandoned after midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch.

In the 17th minute, Bove, 22, bent down to tie his laces but fell to the ground shortly after standing up, causing immediate alarm among those in the stadium.

Medical staff rushed to his aid, while players from both teams formed a protective shield around the midfielder. Bove was quickly transferred to a local hospital for further care.

The on-field referee initially suspended the match, and Serie A officials later confirmed the game would be abandoned.

“The match will not resume and is postponed to a date to be determined,” a statement read. “Following the interruption, Bove collapsed, and the situation appeared very serious. An ambulance took the player away, and we are awaiting updates.”

Fortunately, Sky Italy reported that Bove regained consciousness in the hospital, was breathing on his own, and his heart was functioning without assistance.
