Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received from Old Trafford fans during the 3-2 Europa League victory over Bodo/Glimt.
Amorim was managing his first home game on Thursday night, following a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last Sunday.
The match saw Alejandro Garnacho give United an early lead, but Bodo/Glimt quickly turned the game around with two goals in four minutes from Hakon Evjen and Filip Zinckernagel. However, a brace from Rasmus Højlund secured Amorim’s first win as United manager.

“Half of the stadium didn’t know me; I came from Portugal and hadn’t done anything for this club. But the way they made me feel at home is something special. I’ll carry this with me for the rest of my career,” Amorim said.
“It was an emotional rollercoaster. We started well, but then conceded two goals on the counter. I appreciate how the players tried to play our style. We’ve had issues with losing possession in the past, but the focus now is on keeping the ball. They are giving everything, and I believe we deserved the win,” he added, speaking to TNT Sports.
