Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman and South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams are among five players shortlisted for the prestigious CAF African Player of the Year award, as announced on Monday.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) also named Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi, Ivorian winger Simon Adingra, and Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy as the other finalists.
Lookman’s remarkable performance for Atalanta, including a hat-trick in their 3-0 UEFA Europa League final triumph over Bayer Leverkusen, has positioned him as a strong favorite to claim the award.
