Everton is reportedly planning to sign Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan in the January transfer window. Sources at Football Insider indicate that the Toffees have been monitoring the Nigerian winger for some time.

Chukwueze has struggled to secure regular playing time under new AC Milan manager Paolo Fonseca, making only six substitute appearances across all competitions this season. The 24-year-old managed to score his first league goal of the season in a recent victory over Udinese, taking advantage of a rare start with a composed finish just 12 minutes into the match against fellow Super Eagles teammate Maduka Okoye. This win helped Milan climb to fourth place in the Serie A standings, with 14 points from eight matches, trailing leaders Napoli by five points.

Having joined Milan in the summer of 2023, Chukwueze’s talent and potential make him an appealing target for Everton. However, his high financial demands could pose a challenge for the club.

The Friedkin Group, which is in the process of acquiring a majority stake in Everton, is expected to provide the necessary funds for such a transfer. Everton is keen to strengthen their squad and avoid another relegation battle, making the signing of a winger like Chukwueze a priority.

In addition to Chukwueze, Everton is reportedly considering other options, including Santiago Castro, both of whom are currently playing in Serie A—a league with which The Friedkin Group is familiar through their involvement with Roma.

As Everton currently sits in 16th place in the Premier League, their pursuit of Chukwueze comes at a crucial time. The club hopes that adding a talented winger like him could significantly impact their fortunes in the second half of the season.
