Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stated that his players made “bad decisions” during their 1-1 draw at Newcastle United in Saturday’s early kick-off.
The Premier League champions took the lead in the first half with a goal from Josko Gvardiol. However, the Magpies were awarded a controversial penalty, and City couldn’t secure a late winner, with Nick Pope making an excellent save.

“They had some moments in the first ten minutes and after their goal, but overall, we played really well. We made bad decisions at crucial moments that could have made it 2-0. It’s always tough here because of their physicality and deep defense. We created chances, but [Nick] Pope was brilliant, so we’ll take the point.
“After we scored, we played better, but we made a mistake that allowed them to regain momentum. However, we regrouped and had opportunities to win the match.”
