Victor Osimhen is backing his Super Eagles teammate, Ademola Lookman, to succeed him as Africa’s best player.
Lookman has been widely tipped for the prestigious individual honor following his outstanding performances for both club and country.

In addition, Lookman scored a hat-trick for Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Speaking on the Counter Attack Podcast, Osimhen praised Lookman: “To see Ademola in this situation, I’m really happy for him. I know some of his story, and in terms of football, he deserves every good thing that comes his way because he’s also a very good guy.”
“He’s passionate, does his job diligently, and I’m really happy for him. Of course, we all know he’s going to win the African Player of the Year. One hundred percent, he will win it.”
“I’ve already told him he’s bringing it home, and he deserves it. He’s done so well for us, it’s a win for Nigeria. He has carried the team, and I pray to God that he wins it.”
