Casemiro is reportedly a target for Galatasaray as the Turkish club looks to sign the Manchester United midfielder before the transfer window in Turkey closes on September 13. This comes amid interest from Galatasaray, following the news that Sergio Oliveira is undergoing medical tests at Olympiacos.

Casemiro has faced a notable drop in form since his impressive debut season after joining United from Real Madrid in August 2022. He struggled in the first half of United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, leading to his substitution at halftime due to mistakes that contributed to two of Liverpool’s goals.

Galatasaray, having already made significant moves this summer with the loan signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli and other acquisitions like Gabriel Sara, Elias Jelert, Ismail Jakobs, Hakim Ziyech, and Michy Batshuayi, might be considering Casemiro as part of their ongoing squad enhancement.

The potential departure of Oliveira, who has not featured this season and is set to move to Olympiacos, could create space for Casemiro. Oliveira has made 58 appearances for Galatasaray since joining two years ago, scoring twice.

Casemiro’s role at United may also be affected by the recent arrival of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. Ugarte, who was not registered in time for the Liverpool match, is expected to be integrated into the team gradually. United manager Erik ten Hag acknowledged the challenge of integrating new players, emphasizing the need for time to build Ugarte into the squad, which may impact Casemiro’s game time.
