Germany forward Thomas Müller has announced his retirement from international football. He made the announcement on his X account Monday morning, posting a farewell message alongside a photo of himself in the national team jersey, holding Germany’s flag.

This announcement comes less than 24 hours after Spain won the Euro 2024 title with a 2-1 victory over England in the final. Müller’s final appearance for Germany was as a substitute in their Euro 2024 quarter-final loss to Spain, which saw Germany exit after extra time.
