Chelsea is reportedly prepared to make significant investments, including a hefty sum for Victor Osimhen, to support manager Enzo Maresca despite financial challenges.

The club aims to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations, necessitating player sales before the June 30 deadline to finance future signings. Maresca, currently with Leicester City, is expected to be officially announced as Chelsea’s new manager this week.

According to The Sun, Chelsea has reignited their interest in Osimhen, who is expected to leave Napoli this summer with a £113 million release clause. Despite not yet formalizing their interest, Chelsea has been monitoring Osimhen for years. However, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also eyeing the striker. Osimhen himself is open to various options and doesn’t consider Chelsea a “priority,” potentially complicating matters for the Blues.

In addition to Osimhen, Chelsea is targeting a new goalkeeper adept at playing out from the back, a central defender, a left-back, and another striker. The performances of Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez in goal haven’t impressed, prompting consideration of James Trafford, particularly following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League.

Homegrown talent Conor Gallagher has attracted interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa. Players like Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen, and Armando Broja are also likely to be sold. However, Broja’s underwhelming loan spell at Fulham has reduced his market value, necessitating a lower asking price from the initially anticipated £30 million.

Although Premier League clubs are interested in Chalobah, meeting his wage demands may pose challenges. Liverpool has shown interest in academy graduate defender Levi Colwill, but Chelsea is hesitant to let him go. However, financial constraints might force Chelsea’s hand if other domestic players cannot be sold before the June 30 deadline.
