Bayern Munich’s search for a new manager has encountered two new hurdles as both Roger Schmidt and Roberto De Zerbi have publicly dismissed the possibility of joining the club.
Following unsuccessful pursuits of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick, Bayern’s quest for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, who is set to depart at the season’s end, has faced setbacks.
Schmidt, currently coaching Benfica, reiterated his commitment to his current role, stating, “I’m not available. I’m fully dedicated to Benfica and content with my position. I don’t require any invitations. My stance is crystal clear.”

Similarly, De Zerbi expressed his fondness for Brighton & Hove Albion, emphasizing his affection for the players, city, club, and fans. “I am inclined to stay in Brighton because of my attachment to the team, the city, the club, and the supporters,” he remarked.
Recent speculation linked Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag as a potential replacement for Tuchel, who has been associated with the Old Trafford vacancy. Tuchel, however, hinted at the prospect of prolonging his tenure at Bayern but reiterated the existing agreement.
Director Christoph Freud unequivocally stated to Viaplay that Tuchel will not extend his stay beyond the current season, affirming that there is “no chance” of such an outcome.
