Tottenham Hotspur’s left-back Destiny Udogie will be sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season and will also miss Italy’s Euro 2024 campaign due to a muscle injury that required surgery.
Udogie, who officially joined Tottenham in 2022, had an impressive debut season with the club after transitioning from a loan spell at Udinese. Unfortunately, his season was cut short after sustaining an injury during training this week, leading to surgery on his left quadriceps.
In a statement, Tottenham confirmed Udogie’s surgery and stated that he would undergo rehabilitation with the medical team, aiming to rejoin the squad during pre-season.

Udogie expressed gratitude to his supporters on Instagram, acknowledging the early end to his season due to the injury.
During the current season, Udogie made 30 appearances for Tottenham across various competitions, contributing two goals and three assists. His strong performances in the first half of the campaign positioned him as a potential candidate for the PFA Team of the Year’s left-back spot and a contender for the PFA Young Player of the Year award at 21 years old.
In Udogie’s absence, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is likely to rely on Ben Davies or Emerson Royal at left-back.
Tottenham’s upcoming fixtures include a clash against north London rivals Arsenal, followed by matches against Chelsea, Liverpool, Burnley, Manchester City, and Sheffield United to conclude the season. To secure a spot in the Champions League next season, Spurs will need to finish in the top four of the Premier League, currently trailing fourth-place Aston Villa by three points with a game in hand.
