Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has expressed his desire to continue playing for the club despite the uncertainty surrounding his future. With just 18 months remaining on his contract, Chelsea is open to offers for Gallagher, adhering to their club policy.

Recent reports indicate that Gallagher, keen on remaining at Stamford Bridge, is seeking a wage comparable to fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo, who earns approximately £150,000 per week. In an interview with Sky Sports before Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, Gallagher affirmed his intention to stay with Chelsea.

Speaking about his contract situation, Gallagher stated, “Obviously there is another year and a half left of my contract, and I absolutely love playing under the manager. Playing almost every game has been incredible. Last season, I was in and out of the team, and it wasn’t as enjoyable. I just want to keep playing as much as I can for Chelsea, keep trying to improve, and strive for success.”

If a new contract agreement is not reached by the summer, Chelsea is prepared to sell Gallagher for a fee ranging between £50 million and £60 million. Tottenham Hotspur, long-time admirers of Gallagher, may seize the opportunity to pursue him once the season concludes. Notably, last year, they swiftly secured the £45 million signing of their top target James Maddison from Leicester City following their relegation from the Premier League.

Gallagher’s impressive performance this season includes 34 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals and six assists. Under head coach Mauricio Pochettino, he has captained the team on 15 occasions, with Pochettino actively advocating to retain him during the summer of 2023 and the January transfer window.
