Sevilla’s defender, Sergio Ramos, has affirmed that he will refrain from celebrating if he scores during his return to Real Madrid this upcoming weekend. The seasoned defender is set to play at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since departing in 2021 to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Having spent 16 years with Madrid, Ramos secured five LaLiga titles and four Champions League triumphs, netting 101 goals in 671 appearances. Regarding the potential scenario of scoring against his former club, Ramos stated to the LaLiga website, “I wouldn’t celebrate, but if I happen to score and it contributes to our victory, I would be delighted. Those three points would be very good for us.”
Recognizing Real Madrid’s current standing as league leaders with players of exceptional quality, Ramos acknowledged the challenges but expressed confidence, saying, “Real Madrid is always the favorite to win everything. They’re in a good moment, leading the league, and have players of extraordinary magnitude and quality.
