There are reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is being considered as a potential interim manager for Bayern Munich if Thomas Tuchel is relieved of his duties. Tuchel is currently facing increasing pressure at Bayern, with the club at risk of a trophy-less season for the first time since 2011/12, following three consecutive defeats.

Solskjaer, who won 91 out of 168 games in charge of Manchester United, has familiarity with Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund, who has been following the Norwegian’s career path for years. Another name in the mix is Zinedine Zidane, the French legend and three-time Champions League-winning manager with Real Madrid.

Recent defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Bochum in the Bundesliga have seen Bayern fall eight points behind Leverkusen in the title race. Additionally, they need to overcome a first-leg deficit in their last-16 tie with Lazio after a subpar performance resulted in a 1-0 loss.

Xabi Alonso, the current manager of Bayer Leverkusen, is also reportedly a potential target for Bayern. However, Liverpool is said to be interested in Alonso, anticipating the departure of long-time manager Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has praised Alonso as a standout talent among the next generation of managers, and Bayer Leverkusen is currently undefeated in the Bundesliga this season, making them a strong contender in the Europa League.
