Barcelona’s manager, Xavi Hernandez, has stated that he finds no joy in working at the club during the weekdays. The 44-year-old highlighted this as one of the reasons behind his decision to depart from the LaLiga side at the conclusion of the current season.

Xavi announced his departure after Barcelona’s 5-3 home defeat to Villarreal, despite having a contract in place until 2025. Speaking ahead of the upcoming league fixture against Alaves, he shared in a press conference:

“I am stepping down because it’s been two-and-a-half years, and I feel there is no compensation for being the Barça coach. You’re battling against numerous challenges, and it takes a toll. The day-to-day experience is not enjoyable. I’ve noticed it even in managers who have tasted success here.
