According to a recent report, Manchester United is actively seeking to offload both Antony and Jadon Sancho by offering them to clubs in Saudi Arabia as part of a £100 million transfer strategy. United acquired Sancho for £73 million in 2021, but his performance fell short of expectations, leading to a temporary return to Borussia Dortmund due to a disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag.
Antony, signed for £86 million, has struggled to make a significant impact this season, failing to score or provide an assist. United is reportedly eager to secure the highest possible price for both players and has valued Sancho and Antony at £50 million each. The hope is to recover £100 million, even if it means accepting a combined loss of £59 million.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq targeted Sancho during the 2023 summer transfer window, but negotiations broke down as United, open to a loan deal, stood firm on their £50 million obligation to buy.

While expensive January signings are expected to be limited in Saudi Arabia, there could be renewed interest in overseas talent during the summer. Antony and Sancho are likely to be among the highest-profile names available for transfer. Director of football John Murtough has reportedly met with Saudi officials at the Club World Cup to establish connections and groundwork for future transfers. Notably, players like Casemiro and Raphael Varane are also potential targets for Middle Eastern clubs.
While Varane could potentially leave Old Trafford when his contract expires this summer, there is also a possibility of an extension on reduced terms. The 30-year-old has expressed a desire to end his career at one of the three teams he has represented – United, Real Madrid, and Lens. However, Saudi officials remain optimistic about persuading him to make a move away from Europe.
