Equatorial Guinea dominated the host nation, Ivory Coast, with a 4-0 victory, while Nigeria secured a 1-0 win against Guinea-Bissau. In a closely contested match, Egypt drew 2-2 against Cape Verde, and Ghana also had a 2-2 draw against Mozambique.
With these results, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, and Egypt secured their spots in the last-16. Egypt finished second in Group B, ahead of Ghana in third place.
