Following the attempt to impeach Fubara by 27 lawmakers loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike, the Rivers Assembly became polarized.
James Omotosho, the presiding judge, ruled that the four lawmakers’ actions were all void.
Amaewhule was acknowledged by the court as the state assembly’s speaker as well.
