Although Jean-Charles Castelletto pulled one back in the 83rd minute, Sadio Mane sealed the win with a low shot past Andre Onana. This victory makes Senegal the second team to win their first two matches in the tournament.

In an earlier match on the same day, Cape Verde secured their place in the knockout rounds by defeating Mozambique 3-0.
