Ismaïla Sarr emerged as a key contributor, breaking the deadlock in the 16th minute as he capitalized on André Onana’s weak clearance. Senegal dominated the first half, with Sadio Mané denied an extension of the lead by Enzo Tchato’s impressive block.

The Lions of Teranga continued their attacking prowess in the second half, and Habib Diallo doubled the lead in the 71st minute with a well-executed finish from Sarr’s delivery. However, tension heightened for Senegal as Diallo had to be stretchered off, adding a touch of drama to the closing moments.

Cameroon, struggling to find their stride, made a late impact with Jean-Charles Castelletto’s powerful header, narrowing the deficit. Despite a tense finale, Senegal secured the victory as Mané calmly slotted home in stoppage time.

The triumph extends Senegal’s unbeaten streak to six matches across all competitions, underscoring their formidable form. On the contrary, Cameroon faces uncertainty with just one victory in their last eight games. While Senegal celebrates their qualification, Cameroon now confronts a crucial final group stage clash against The Gambia, aiming to reverse their fortunes and secure a spot in the knockout stages.
