Following his sacking as AS Roma manager, Mourinho, also known as the ‘Special One,’ has broken his silence. Roma took the decision to part ways with Mourinho after the team’s 3-1 loss to AC Milan at San Siro, leaving them in ninth place on the Serie A table. Although Mourinho’s initial contract was set to expire at the season’s end, Roma chose immediate action.

AS Roma confirmed Mourinho’s departure through a statement on their social media pages and official website, expressing gratitude for his contributions since his unveiling as the 60th coach in May 2021. The statement highlighted Mourinho’s achievements, including winning the Conference League in Tirana on May 25th, 2022, and reaching the Europa League final in Budapest last season.

Dan and Ryan Friedkin, on behalf of AS Roma, thanked Mourinho for his passion and efforts but stated that an immediate change was in the club’s best interests. They wished Mourinho and his assistants success in their future endeavors.

In response to the decision, Mourinho shared his reaction on Instagram with a ten-word statement: “Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity.” He also posted a video reel capturing the highs and lows of his time at the club.

Visibly emotional while leaving Roma’s training base, Trigoria, for the last time, Mourinho was almost brought to tears as fans chanted his name and sought selfies. His emotional connection with Roma, unlike any experienced at previous clubs, was evident throughout his tenure.
