Following a nocturnal fire incident in the Tudun Wada area of Nassarawa Local Government Area, Kano State, at least seven members of a family were reported dead.

When the local power was restored, it was reported that a spark from an electrical plug caused the incident.

Additionally, our correspondent has learned that the sixth youngster passed away during his hospitalization, and that the other victims were burnt to death.

Saminu Abdullahi, the public relations officer for the Kano State Fire Service, verified the incident to PUNCH Metro and said that the victims perished from asphyxia caused by smoke from the fire.

The victims were sound asleep when the crime occurred at midnight. Suffocation was the cause of death for the victims.

“We received a distress call from someone named Ibrahim Sani early on Monday. Upon arrival at the scene, our guys found that a residential house had been completely destroyed by fire.

Because they were suffocated by the smoke from the incident, seven persons perished in the incident. After being taken to the hospital in an ambulance, a doctor declared the victims dead.

“Our men arrived at the scene to find that the victims had already been taken to the hospital and that the fire had been put out by neighbors and other Good Samaritans before our men arrived,” he said.
