Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina State, expressed his condolences to the families of the seven people who perished in a collision on the Kaduna-Abuja Highway on Friday, aboard one of the state’s mass transit vehicles.

It was discovered that the bus driver and two children were among the dead.

In a statement made in Katsina on Friday night, Ibrahim Mohammed, the chief press secretary for the governor, linked the Thursday disaster to ongoing highway repairs.

The statement said, in part, “Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, extends his sincere condolences to the families affected by the fatal accident involving a KTSTA eighteen-seater bus. This is his heartfelt response to the devastating incident that occurred yesterday (Thursday).”

Due to continuing works on the Kaduna-Abuja highway, the misfortune KTSTA bus from its office in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State met with disaster en route to Abuja.

As per the statement, heavy machinery was placed nearby by the contractors, who unintentionally contributed to the terrible situation, and traffic had to be diverted for the construction work.

Seven lives were tragically lost at the scene of the collision, including two children and the bus driver. During this trying moment, Governor Radda extends her sincere condolences and shows her support for the families of the deceased as well as the people of Katsina State.

The Governor also offered his sympathies to his Borno State counterpart, Babagana Zulum, over the loss of his media aide, Isa Gusau.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Malam Isa Gusau and our thoughts are with the Borno State Government and the family of the deceased,” the statement continued.
