The Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway’s Toll-Gate saw an accident on Saturday that left one man dead and three others injured, according to the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps. The collision involved an articulated vehicle.

The incident happened at approximately 5:06 am, according to Mr. Adekunle Ajibade, the South-West Area Commander of TRACEC, who spoke with NAN in Ota, Ogun, on Saturday.

According to Ajibade, the car with the license plate XA356 ALD was traveling from Sango-Ota to Lagos when it lost control from speeding and collided with four people who were waiting to board a bus at the Toll-Gate.

He said that three other people were injured in different ways in the deadly truck accident, and one man died as a result of the collision.

While the survivors are being treated at Ota General Hospital, the victim’s body has been placed in the morgue at Ifo General Hospital, Ogun,” he stated.

In order to minimize needless collisions, Ajibade advised drivers—especially those operating trucks—to refrain from speeding.

In addition, he restated the agency’s pledge to increase patrols in 2024 in an effort to curb drivers’ excesses and lower crash rates.
