He gave a brief overview of the command’s accomplishments and expressed satisfaction that it had surpassed its annual goal in 2022.

“As of right now, the command has recorded about N301 billion in revenue,” Imam stated.

“The command has remarkably increased over N40 billion to N50 billion in addition to what was realised last month. Not only did it reach its income objective, it substantially exceeded previous year’s revenue.”

“I would like to state here that, in July, the command had a total revenue of N38 billion, which is an unprecedented record in this command’s history, just for a month,” he stated in continuation.

He continued by saying that up till now, the command had to document a maximum revenue of only N27 billion made in a single month.

“We have achieved approximately 90% of our revenue target for the year 2023,” Imam said. “We want to assure you all that we are resolute and committed to ensuring that we meet up with our revenue target before the end of the year.” The revenue target for the year 2023 is approximately N336 billion.

Regarding smuggling, the Area Comptroller revealed that during the period under examination, the command has seized roughly 38–39 containers in order to ensure compliance with import and export standards and to act as a deterrent to others.

Secondhand clothing, worn tires, hard drugs hidden, other narcotics, weapons and ammunition, including handguns, were among the contraband that violated import and export regulations and were turned over to the appropriate authorities.

He also mentioned the command’s amicable and peaceful cooperation with stakeholders and sister agencies, claiming that this has improved the command’s earnings and led to seamless operations.

He encouraged the command’s officers to keep rowing and praised them for their tenacity in completing their duties and responsibilities as required by law.

“As young officers in this service, the service is for you,” he scolded further. Since you are in charge of this service, you must be appropriate, aggressive, careful, and dedicated.

In order to be recognized, you must be genuinely committed to your goals, be prepared to complete any task that is handed to you at any moment, and be sure that you will produce the necessary outcome.

The awarding of prizes and certificates of achievement and appreciation to command officers and stakeholders was the event’s high point.
