In the quest to maintain their La Liga lead with Girona trailing closely, Madrid sought victory in Seville. Early chances included Marc Roca’s attempt saved by Andriy Lunin and Luka Modric’s header off target. Although Brahim Diaz appeared to give Madrid the lead, his tap-in was disallowed due to Rodrygo’s offside in the buildup. Despite dominating possession, Madrid struggled to test Betis’ goalkeeper Rui Silva.

Ayoze Perez and Willian Jose had opportunities for Betis, while Modric’s long-range shot was the best Madrid could produce in the goalless first half.

The second half saw Isco nearly giving Betis the lead, but Lunin made a crucial block. Bellingham then showcased his skill, combining with Diaz to score a delightful goal. However, Betis responded with a spectacular goal from Ruibal, equalizing with a venomous strike from the edge of the area.

Both teams had chances late in the game, including Betis hitting the post with Isco’s header, but neither could find a decisive winner. The draw meant Madrid relinquished two points in the tightly contested La Liga title race.
